How it works
Four movements, in order.
PONALO does not scrape, guess or infer a person into existence. It establishes a verified identity, obtains explicit permission, discovers relationships from authorised sources, and then keeps them honest.

Verify the person
A verified identity is created with an internal secure Person ID. National identifiers are associated with it, never used as the primary key.

Grant consent
You choose which sources may be searched, for what purpose and for how long. Consent is versioned and can be withdrawn.

Build the graph
Authorised sources return relationships with role, status, effective dates and provenance attached to each one.

Mine, Not mine, Unsure or Incorrect. Anything disputed becomes a case with an owner and a lifecycle.
Provenance
Where a fact came from is part of the fact.
Every relationship, attribute and event carries its origin. Nothing appears in a Passport without an answer to the question: who said this, and when?
Institution reported
An institution asserted the relationship through a connector or attestation.
User provided
The person supplied it themselves, with or without supporting evidence.
Registry sourced
Returned from an authorised civil or statutory register.
Derived
Computed by the platform from other records, and labelled as such.
Honest coverage
What was not searched matters as much as what was.
A relationship map that hides its gaps is misleading. PONALO reports connected sources, sandbox sources and unconnected sources separately, so confidence is never overstated.
Conflict handling
Disputed information stays visibly disputed.
When an institution and a person disagree, PONALO does not pick a winner and does not silently overwrite. Both versions remain visible, marked, and attached to an open case until it is resolved.
